In late July 2022, I backpacked and camped at some sections of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) near Mt Hood in Oregon. This painting is based on a scene as you are getting close to the lodge. There was still some snow on the upper sections of Mt Hood.

This painting is based on a segment of the JMT/PC trail view at a wooden bridge crossing.

This summer I did a 4 day JMT/PCT backpacking trip through the John Muir Wilderness area, Ansel Adams Wilderness, Yosemite national park, and Sequoia National Forest. This painting is based on part of that route.

While hiking a section of the PCT, I camped at this wonderful lake north east of Shasta. The painting is based on a photograph of the lake in the evening with the sun setting in the west showing light only up on the westerly facing redish mountain.

This painting is also based on scenes on the Pinecrest Loop Trail near Horse and Cow Meadow and Cooper Meadows Area. This painting is quite a bit bigger than the regular 8×10 or 9×12 and the size is 12×18. This painting is of a scene on the Pinecrest Loop Trail that I hiked in Summer of 2022. This area can be reach by hiking from Pinecrest about 10 miles East past the Waterhouse Lake Trail junction and on the Cooper Meadow Trail.

In the summer of 2022, I backpacked a 70 mile section the Pacific Crest Trail and JMT (John Muir Trail). This painting is based on a view in later afternoon with the strong westerly light.

This painting is also part of the PLT (Pinecrest Loop Trail), a 77 mile loop backpacking trip that starts and finishes in Pinecrest, CA.

This lake was part of a 4 day backpacking trip on the Pinecrest Loop Trail that I help to create and develop in the summer of 2022. This lake is about 6 miles from Kennedy Meadows North.

In the summer of 2022, I did several 1 to 5 night overnight backpacking trips on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) or some other trips near Pinecrest California in Yosemite and Immigrant Wilderness Areas. This painting is based on a scene inside the John Muir Wilderness Area or the Ansel Adams Wilderness Areas.
