This painting is a view from a higher Lovely house above the Atlantic side looking over the emerald green and blue Atlantic bay on east side of the island. This painting was done at the Lovely house so it is named Lovely, Bahamas.

After returning from the Bahamas, I returned back to Vero Beach for additional time in Florida on the sailboat. Here are some paintings from time on the boat.

Mechanical issues on the sailboat made for a longer stay on this one Bahamian Island for about 5 weeks. During that time, some local paintings were done and given to new friends on this island.
First is a painting of 95 year old Kit who is on the island for 5 months each year.
This is a painting infront of her house on the Atlantic side of the Grand Harbour Cay

With several flights and time to paint and sketch on the boat and at the cabin, I have put in several more sketches into my nature journal book that I travel with to capture scenes in a very quick manner. Typically these are 10-15 minutes top to draw and watercolor and notate the drawing.

This year I did a few quick ink sketches and watercolors for holiday cards. Here are some of the sketches I put together.

This painting is based on a view I saw during my stay in Florence a month previously at sunset over the Arno river with a late paddler.

This painting is from a view of Pinecrest lake in late December before the snow has fallen but the lake levels are fairly low.

A color day outside near Strawberry, California overlooking Herring Creek. I tried to capture the parts of the snow on the ground and rocks but it still looks like spring. It is December the snow has come and gone a few times this winter so far.

The snow has arrived in the Sierras in California so today I grabbed my painting gear and headed off to capture a snowy view with trees and rocks.
