This painting was painted on site on the river in Strawberry, CA.


This painting is based on a view of Camp Lake in the Emmigrant Wilderness Area in California.

The lake has a small rocky cove at one end and this painting was painted onsite in the lake afternoon.


This painting is based on a early morning lake run and a photograph taken early during the morning with the easterly light coming thru the trees at the lake edge.

In later May, I returned back to my cabin in the Sierras to start to paint plein air painting locally there. The next few paintings are painted locally or at the cabin studio.


This painting is based on a painting of evening view of Prague from a trip earlier in November 2025.


It’s much easier to pull out the sketch book and do a quick pen and watercolor sketch while at the beach or out and about. Here a some of the sketches from the Bahamas and Florida.



This painting is a view from a higher Lovely house above the Atlantic side looking over the emerald green and blue Atlantic bay on east side of the island. This painting was done at the Lovely house so it is named Lovely, Bahamas.

After returning from the Bahamas, I returned back to Vero Beach for additional time in Florida on the sailboat. Here are some paintings from time on the boat.
