In late October 2025, I spent some time in Florence, Italy painting and taking painting classes.
Here is a painting painted in the park on the Urno River.

Today I painted another picture plein air style out on the trail with the lake in the background. I hiked about 1.5 miles down the side of the lake to reach this area where the light comes behind the aspen trees and other oaks just back from the lake.

A real plein air painting session with another local plein air painter Andrea.
This was a fun afternoon painting with a local, very seasoned artist who has painting styles and techniques that I am working toward in my oil paintings.

This painting is a view of a street in Mc Cloud, California with some older smaller houses and sheds with Mt Shasta in the background.

This painting is a view of Pinecrest Lake in late evening in June.

In late May, I was visiting Mc Cloud, California for a family gathering and was able to capture this mill pond view and reflection of Mount Shasta. I did two paintings, one is the smaller 8×10 painting and also a larger 16×20 painting.

This painting is based on a photo of the early morning light in the harbour. The light had just crested the hills on the east side and early light was hitting this older church building in the morning.

While sailing in the Abacos, Bahamas, we did a short stop this year at Manjack Cay. This beach I was able to capture late in the afternoon after a long and windy sail from Marsh Harbour to this anchorage. It was late in the afternoon with the island blocking the light.

This painting is of a dock in this quiet anchorage off of the Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas. It was painted while sailing and cruising the Bahamas in March 2025.
