Bodie House
Bodie is located over 9000 feet in eastern side of the Sierras where is dry and the old abandoned wood houses very slow decay but they are kept in that state continuous. This painting is more detailed painting of the house I painted in the distance before.
Cinque Terre – Vernazza
This tiny town, one of the 5 cites in the Cinque Terra is probably the most famous. The blue -green ocean and the light pastel colors of the very old buildings make more a wonderful image to paint.
Johnston House – Half Moon Bay, CA
For those who have driven south on Hwy 1 south of Half Moon Bay is this historically preserve house called the Johnston House built in 1853. Land around has been preserved and it is backdropped by the coastal range hills behind it.
Swazey Hotel – Bodie, CA
This is one of my favorite old structures in Ghost town of Bodie, California called the Swazey Hotel. Bodie is an historic state park south of Bridgeport, CA on Highway 395.
Bodie State Park – CA
Bodie is unique historical state park off of Highway 395 near Bridgeport CA. It is filled with many old buildings that were simply abandoned when the silver dried up and everyone left. Hoping to create other Bodie paintings. Here is the painting being created in the Tree House Studio
Pinecrest Lake, CA
These scene is a view from the east side of the lake looking West back toward the beach. It’s later summer with some beach showing and some yellow almost dried flowers in the large granite slopes on the eastern side of the lake.
San Gregorio – CA Coast
The inland coast of the Bay Area is filled with farms and rolling coastal hills before reaching a high 2000 foot section before coming into the SF bay area. San Gregorio is a one store /post office town about 1 mile from coast.
Blue Canyon
At about 9000 feet on Hwy 108 sonora pass is a un-marked trailhead to Blue Lake and Blue Canyon. This steep 1500 foot ascent in 2 miles goes up to a blue often icy lake above tree line. This is one blue Blue Canyon painting as you start the hike around 9000 feet.
Hwy 395
Highway 395 on the eastern side of California is an endless road of paint-able images. On one side you the steeper side of the Sierra Nevada range that peaks out at 15,000 + feet near Whitney with flat green and brown hills below. Summer is short in these dry and tougher areas.
